Write for us
We welcome pitches that help readers see nearby outdoor life more clearly: a useful explanation, a thoughtful comparison, a small piece of history, or a well-shaped idea for making time outside more enjoyable.
What makes a strong pitch
Send a short outline of the central question, what the reader will understand or be able to consider, and why the subject suits Local Outdoor Living. A good proposal is specific, self-contained and useful beyond one news moment. Tell us the proposed format and any sources or expertise the piece would need. We especially value distinct ideas that do not repeat coverage already on the site.
How to send it
Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option for your proposal. Please send a pitch rather than a finished full-length article unless we have requested a draft. We cannot promise publication or a response time, and we do not accept material that depends on unsupported claims or undisclosed promotion.
Outside begins at the familiar edge.
A doorstep, a path or a nearby patch of green can change the feel of a day. We look at the details that help people enjoy these places in their own way.
